Custom Ear Molds
Protect Your Hearing with Custom Ear molds
Did you know that one-third of permanent hearing loss cases are avoidable with proper prevention strategies? For this reason, the best treatment for hearing loss is prevention.
At Audiology & Hearing Aids, our licensed audiologists in Pinehurst, Raeford, Rockingham, Sanford and Troy, NC can make custom earmolds that provide attenuation of loud noises to prevent hearing loss.
We would be happy to make specific molds for your individual listening needs. For instance, musicians may require special attenuation that does not distort the sound quality of music while hunters may require greater attenuation for impact noise. Talk to your audiologist about what hearing protection devices are right for you.
Some people require custom made earpieces for their phones, MP3 players, and ear monitors to maximize fit of their devices and reduce interference from ambient noise. Your audiologist can guide you through earmold options that will be right for you and your device.
We proudly offer pediatric and adult custom earmolds for the following:
- Bathing
- Swimming
- Hearing protection
- Musicians
- Hunters
- Phones
- MP3 players
- Occupational earpieces (ie stethoscopes)
- And more
Prevention for Pediatric Hearing Loss for Patients
If your child has had recurrent ear infections and has been treated by an ear, nose and throat physician with pressure equalization tubes, your physician may recommend swim plugs for your child to use while swimming and bathing. These custom-made ear molds will prevent water and chemicals from traveling through the PE tube down into the middle ear space, which could cause severe discomfort.
