Carotid Artery Disease in Patients
The carotid arteries are the major arteries in your neck that supply blood to the brain. Carotid artery disease occurs when these arteries become narrowed or blocked by plaque buildup on the inside of the artery walls. This buildup often results in atherosclerosis, or hardening of the arteries.
Carotid artery disease is a serious health problem and may lead to a mini stroke (TIA), or major stroke (CVA). However, with the proper treatment at our vascular specialty center, patients in Southern Pines, Fayetteville and surrounding areas in Central NC and beyond can experience relief from atherosclerosis and the problems it causes:
- Carotid Endarterectomy
- Transcarotid Artery Revascularization (TCAR)
- Carotid Stent
