Kidney Stone Treatment
If you are experiencing a kidney stone problem, you can depend on our Urologists for medical care and treatment. At Pinehurst Surgical Clinic, we provide the Kidney-Ureter-Bladder (KUB) test and Intravenous Pyelogram (IVP) exam to diagnose kidney stones as well as the following kidney stone treatments: Cystoscopy, Ureteroscopy, Laser Lithotripsy and Shock Wave Lithotripsy.
With our Pinehurst, NC lithotripsy treatments, shock waves or laser pulses are created outside the body or through a scope respectively, and allowed to travel through the body until they hit the kidney stones. Typically, the stones will break down into smaller particles so they can easily be passed through the urinary tract.
Common Kidney Stone Symptoms
Patients with kidney stones will typically not display any noticeable symptoms until pain from passing the stones begins to occur. Pain will typically start in the back and side, then move to the groin. Nausea and vomiting are common symptoms at this point and many patients will also experience trouble urinating or pain during urination. In some cases, blood will appear in the urine.
If you are experiencing fevers or chills with your kidney stone problem, please don’t wait to contact a Urologist at Pinehurst Surgical Clinic.
