Gathering For The Pines Proceeds Help Local VFW Chapter
This year’s Gathering for the Pines fundraiser allowed us to support members of our community who have sacrificed much: local veterans. Veterans of Foreign Wars is the country’s oldest and largest war veterans organization, and local VFW posts are committed to community activism and service. Friends of Pinehurst Surgical Clinic wanted to thank VFW members for their service—both at home and abroad. To do this, we partnered with the Pinehurst chapter of VFW to help replace outdated kitchen equipment at the organization’s community center.
Thanks to the contributions of our Gathering for the Pines attendees, we were able to raise $22,300 for the VFW John Boyd Post 7318, allowing them to purchase four much-needed industrial kitchen appliances. We’re excited to have played a small part in the significant work the VFW does for other local veterans and the broader Pinehurst community, and look forward to what the future holds for the members at Post 7318.
