Dr. John R. Moore IV First to Use New AI-Assisted Hip Replacement Technology at FirstHealth

Pinehurst Surgical Clinic orthopaedic surgeon John R. Moore IV, M.D., recently became the first surgeon to use Zimmer Biomet’s OrthoGrid Hip AI® technology at FirstHealth of the Carolinas. Dr. Moore performed the procedure in September 2026 at Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.

OrthoGrid Hip AI uses artificial intelligence and real-time surgical guidance to assist surgeons with implant positioning during total hip replacement procedures. The technology is designed to improve precision while supporting individualized surgical care.
