Nearly 30 million Americans experience some degree of hearing loss. That’s one in every 10 people! The good news is that most hearing problems can be helped with hearing devices. Technological advances over the past decade mean more options and better results than ever before. If you’ve ever had concerns about hearing problems, let us show you how easy and effective our help can be.
How can I tell if I have a hearing problem?
Common early signs indicating you should have your hearing checked include:
- If you complain that people mumble
- If you are continually asking people to repeat what they’ve just said
- If you avoid noisy rooms or places
- If you prefer the television or radio to be louder than others do
- If you have trouble hearing at the movies, at the theater or at your place of worship
- If you have difficulty understanding people when you can’t see their faces
- If you have difficulty understanding conversations in a group
If you are experiencing some or all of these problems, please call us for a comprehensive hearing evaluation with one of our Audiologists.
Better hearing has been proven to:
- Improve learning power
- Enhance intimacy and family relationships
- Ease communication
- Help physical health
- Increase sense of control over life’s events
What can I expect from a visit to Pinehurst Audiology?
One of our Doctors of Audiology will perform an evaluation to determine the degree and type of hearing loss as well as its impact on your life. The Audiologist can then tell what hearing device will be most beneficial for you.
Your Audiologist will discuss with you and your family what improvement you can expect from the help of a hearing device. You will have the opportunity to choose from the variety of today’s sophisticated types and styles according to your individual lifestyle and financial considerations. We offer a full line of state-of-the-art hearing devices including the latest in digital technology.
A hearing aid fitting appointment will be scheduled 2 weeks after your ear impression has been taken. During this appointment, you will learn how to properly use and care for your new device. All hearing aids have a 30 day trial period to allow you time to determine if the hearing aid is beneficial. A follow-up visit will be necessary so you and your Audiologist can review your experiences with amplification.
